This past Monday night at The Lafourche All-Parish Swim Meet, THS Senior Swimmer Karlie Trosclair qualified for the LHSAA Division 1 State Swim Meet in the 100 Breaststroke. Even though Karlie has been battling a rotator cuff injury this season, she was determined to qualify for the event for a second year in a row. For you fans who are not familiar with the Division 1 State qualifying times compared to other divisions, in most events Division 1 Girls have faster requirements than Boys in all other divisions. For example, Girls who swim for Thibodaux High School, Central Lafourche, and H L Bourgeois must be faster than the boys who swim for local competitors such as South Lafourche, Terrebonne, and E.D. White in order to qualify for the State Swim Meet. With that said, this qualification is a TRUE accomplishment. With many efforts and much controversy throughout the state to equalize these state qualifying times, we hope to see changes in the future, but our THS Swimmers strive on to accomplish these goals set before them. Congratulations Karlie!! You did it!!!
